Mitigating Electromagnetic Noise When Using Low-Cost Devices in Industry 4.0

Transitioning toward Industry 4.0 requires major investment in devices and mechanisms enabling interconnectivity between people, machines, processes. In this article, we present a low-cost system based on the Raspberry Pi platform to measure overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) real time, propose two filtering for electromagnetic interferences (EMIs) OEE accurately. The first EMI mechanism is database filter (DBF), which has been designed record sealing signals DBF works by erroneous that have inserted it. second smart coded (SCF), used associated with machine availability measurements. We validated our proposal several production lines food industry. results show properly, it considerably reduces implementation costs compared proprietary systems offering similar functions. After implementing proposed actual industrial settings, mean error (ME) of −0.43% root square (RMSE) 4.85 signals, an 0% signal, thus accurate estimate OEE.
